My family name is Lam or 蓝. When translated, it means BLUE. So it became Blue Lamb or 蓝羊, in Chinese it sounds like Nanyang 南洋 or Southern Ocean oftened used to reference South East Asia.
Before moving to modern day Singapore and Malaysia, most of the Lam's 蓝 last station was Dabu county, a province of Meizhou, a prefecture of the Guangdong state in China.
Blue Lamb journals my personal journey in discovering my personal ancestery, starting with the search for my grandfather whom I have never met. He died a hero during the Japanese occupation in July 1945.
While this began as my personal ancestory, I hope that it expands to tell the stories of the wider Lam/蓝 family.
